Tilly Willis is an artist who lives and works in rural Somerset in South West England. She comes from an artistic family. Her grandfather was the renowned cartoonist H.M.Bateman and her father and sister are both successful practising artists. A passion for travel has taken her all over the world, particularly Africa. Her trips to Africa often inspire her and she paints the people and places she encounters. She also has family in Senegal, West Africa (Can you find this on a map?).

I like the one with the 2women in yellow an orange because they are cool drawrings

I like her paintings because it is different and unique , I love the way she makes shadows in her paintings and in most of her pictures she uses the sunset

I like the palm tree on the beach painting because it looks happy and sunny.
I will change the usual colours and make it more brighter so it looks more wow than that’s nice.

1. I like the bending women because of the couloir in the backround.

The picture I like the most is the peaceful beach because I like the way the sun is near the sand and I like how the waves are straight in line and they start small then go really big.the picture I would change is the one where a lady is sitting leaning on a tree with a baby sitting on her leg.The reason I would change it is because it’s just really plain and hasn’t got a lot of colour.

I chose the picture where some ladies were having a meeting in the shade under a tree because outside it was too hot. Moreover, I would not like to change anything as it looks good just the way it is.

My favourite painting is the one with the two ladies standing with a bascit on ther head because I like the way the sun shines on them. I would change the bascit a bit biger so you can see the bascit more.

I like Tilly’s painting “sisters.” I like the way it’s drawn and its simple yet interesting. PS Senegal is next to Gambia, Guinea and Mali.

I like the sun sea and sand picture because it shows a symmetrical waves/ripples I don’t need to change it because it looks good.

I love the picture because they are all colouful and they bring out the colours infant there was one picture that cought my eye the features on the picture was very good the colour yellow and orange and red are hot colours but the colour blue is a cold colour that’s why I loved that effect.

I love the picture ‘well woman’ because of the detail and presision of the pencil. The way Tilly Willis uses a slight curving motion around the well gives an excellent 3D type effect.The wonderful horizon is beautiful,and I really like the way the blue fades into the yellow. You can clearly see that the woman is relaxed and calm, leaning slightly on the well looking into the far distance of nothingness, or the disappearing light of the sun….
