World Maths Day

It’s World Maths Day! (mathematicians of the world say woohoo!) To celebrate, we will be looking at some of the world’s most inspirational mathematicians, their lives and the mathematical theories they have been involved in.

Mathematicians don’t come much more famous than Einstein.. Many people consider him a scientist, although his work in the field of Mathematical relativity (gulp!) is considered to be one of the most important works of all time.

You may have heard of this man – he worked out the theory of gravity when an apple fell on his head! Many think of Newton as a scientist (more specifically a physicist) but this man’s theories in maths have made major contributions to engineering.

He only went and invented the temperature scale – degrees celsius! (If that isn’t impressive, I don’t know what is!)
